Kayleigh Porter is an emerging ceramic artist in Baltimore, Maryland. She recently received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Ceramics, 2010, from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Kay is a teacher, a student, a technician, and an aspiring artist. She is currently working as a Ceramic Stereolithography Lab Technician at Technology Assessment & Transfer. She has several years teaching experience with Baltimore Clayworks where she has worked throughout the community with all ages, 5 – 75. Kay, also, stays active in her field by taking classes, workshops, residencies, and exhibiting in galleries. She is currently excited about her upcoming residency at Guldagergaard: International Ceramic Research Center in Denmark and her upcoming solo exhibition “Tactile Tensions” at Montpelier Arts Center in Laurel, MD, opening September 7, 2012, 7-9pm.
